wino forever

last weekend we went to deaver vineyards in amador county for some wine tasting. they are the makers of my most favorite bubbles, almond sparkling wine. not only was the wine fantastic, but the landscape was absolutely beautiful. bella, the resident pooch hung out with me while photographing the lake.

well, we have had a really great time here but will be heading back early tomorrow. unfortunately, both cameras i brought had very little battery life, but i was able to get some shots while on our tour of emerald bay today. it's hard to believe i will only be in california for another week!

greg and alaire came over yesterday to hang out. after an afternoon of chili burgers, pirate's booty, and a movie, we sat around the table to play rummy.

it was so windy today that the front lawn was covered in rose petals. hello allergy season.

becca, trevor, and i spent some time dyeing eggs this morning. beforehand, the easter bunny brought my parents some gifts-- the wee succulents are for my mom's desk and my dad got a new cd to rock out to. we couldn't resist baking more cupcakes. this time we used neon food coloring for the bright frosting and "grandma" sprinkles to top them off.

there's nothing like staying in your pajamas, drinking mimosas, and eating chocolate all day.
